Am new to proxmox so sorry if i am being dumb. I am trying to setup my homelab the way i want. Being curious about all the things to offer, I saw the proxmox helper scripts (just for clarity - https://community-scripts.github.io/ProxmoxVE/) and wanted to try different things on it. Now I have had some issues before, like when doing a reverse proxy on my server to access it, however, the issue seemed to resolve itself of there being no networking in the lxc yet. However now this always comes back and I am unsure what to do. I have tried setting up a new interface, setting the boxes up in privileged rather than just being unprivileged, but nothing seems to work. Sometimes, I will have it whereby i setup a VM and all is fine, but when i go to duplicate the process, i then have no internet on the new box. I have attached some screenshots regarding the networking config, what is shown and such, hopefully it will make sense to someone and they can help me :). 1756755820845.png

Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sure.

My friendly recommendation is to us a tool (here: PVE) the way it was meant to be used. Third party scripts are often problematic - both for the user (who does not know what it did in detail) and the people here in the forum because they can not help...

Not ironic: Good luck!

So one of my recent things i wanted was to try and self host a plex server. But whenever i try and ping the internet like google it cannot resolve. I can ping my pihole dns address, and my gateway address fine, but google just doesnt work :(

hey there,
Am new to proxmox so sorry
Same here...
so sorry if i am being dumb
no need to be sorry for being dumb....better: be sorry for being lazy (regarding @UdoB's words above ;) ).
That said...
I am indeed new with proxmox and virtualization in general as well. And yeah, I too stumbled over those helper scripts...and decided against it.
What I did instead (before even looking at any hardware specs or such) was read, read read all about it (same with networking, firewalls, stuff in general).
So, read this (it might explain your problems) > https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Network_Configuration
:)
