I am attempting to move Cisco VMs from ESXI to Proxmox. They require Promiscuous Mode and Forged Transmit to be enabled (on the VSwitch). I was able to enable the Promiscuous Mode via the CLI for each individual interface. I have not been able to find where anyone has gotten resolution to this issue. Can someone please help? Thank you!

afaik, Forged Transmit is anti mac spoofing feature, so it should be related to proxmox firewall with ebtables.

found some doc:

"When the Forged transmit option is set to Accept, ESXi does not compare source MAC address and effective MAC address. And hence the traffic is allowed."

So, that mean no filtering. (make sense if you enable promiscuous mode, you don't want to filter packets from unknown mac)

So, by default, if you don't use proxmox firewall, it's ok. (or disable ebtables if you use it)

Awesome, thank you. So far no luck. Probably a whole bunch of PEBKAC going on here.
I am wondering if I enabled Promiscuous Mode incorrectly - I enabled it on the CLI of the Proxmox host. Is there a VSwitch-ish place to enable it in Proxmox?
