Solutions for NAT rules?

Hi.

Surely this has been somehow managed before, but I'm not aware of the current status.

PVE has filter rules management, which is great, but I miss a way to have a smart way for, at least, basic NAT rules.

Several years ago I wrote a custom script with "high scalable" easy use and that's what I still use, and I gladly can share with anyone who wants to try and use it.

However, are there any options out there I'm missing, together with plans for this?

no ETA as PVE is hypervisor.

if iptables isn't enough, fire up a VM as router (ipfire / OpenWrt /...)
