    Update: Pressing Escape let me manually select the drive. Still not sure why this error showed up when it didn't the first time, though.

    I swapped out the GT 620 for a GT 430 and now it works. Weird issue.

    forgive me for being a noob, but I'm having similar issues and don't see where one would edit the kernel boot options. :)
