I was checking for a solution similar to the problem you have, where the outage of one switch would make all nodes lose quorum. Using a secondary physical link and configuring this in corosync solves this problem. Thanks for writing this out <3
Thank you for your time and clear answer :)
How do you see which local storage is on which host when moving a disk this way? Or can I still name the ID however I want?
Or does this mean that a disk replicates to all 4 hosts local storage?
I probably need to follow a proxmox course sometime soon :)
Thank you for your answer :)
So if I rename my local storage and use the same name on all 4 hosts it should work?
I am trying to move the disk of a VM from one hosts local storage to another hosts local storage, so a VM that resides on the proxmox5 host (see below) has its disk on the local...
Hello fellow Proxmox users,
At the moment I run 4 proxmox hosts on version 7.4-3
All these hosts have local LVM storage, which I use to run the VM Disks on.
Now, If i try and move one disk from one local LVM storage to another host's local LVM storage, I am unable to, and I get the error: TASK...
Excellent, thanks for clearing that up for me :)
As per bbgeek17's articles and recommendations I will then set my Disk controller to SCSI Single to enable IO Thread, and then Async IO To native.
Very informative stuff this.
Thanks for your answer :) I will have to set all my VMs to io native.
Have these problems been recent? because all my VMs running on proxmox v6.4-8 hosts have the default io_uring setting enabled, its only when I started moving to proxmox v7.4-3 hosts that I have encountered this error.
I was...
That's correct, we mainly run DNS, DHCP, etc and some monitoring servers, which is critical to our customers but certainly nothing high performance :-)
What is that barrier you are referring to that the developers put in place? that I am trying to circumvent? You mean I should not enable...
bbgeek17, thanks for the eye opener. I would have never figured that part out myself! Grepping that file gives a lot of insight.
My VMs disk runs default (no cache) under the Edit: Hard Disk
If I read the article on blockbridge about performance correctly the io=native can still have IO blocks...
I have seen this forumpost, it was very helpful. I do not understand still how to configure my local storage in such a way that it accepts VM Disks with the io_uring setting? they are SSD Disks set in a hardware raid-10, configured as LVM. whenever i move a disk to that storage from my NAS I get...
Greetings fellow proxmox users,
I have a question. I recently have started migrating my VMs from 2 proxmox v6.4-8 hosts to 2 proxmox v7.4-3 hosts. all hosts are part of the same cluster, have extra local storage defined as LVM. I have two NAS nodes added to the cluster aswell. I started the...
Ah okay. in the GUI I see an IP Address mentioned under cluster --> "join information" I assumed that that one is static and unchangable.
Thanks for the clarification.
Thanks for your time.
Just to check if I understood correctly; my Cluster IP address will not change eventhough it shares that same IP Address with the host im about to remove and reinstall and give this host a new IP Address.
