what i do when installing windows server is usually create a virtual floppy disk with -fda
try to start the vm, and then ssh to the host and enter the command
#ps ax | grep vmid
0:21 [kjournald]
2115 ? Sl 2276:31 /usr/bin/kvm -id 101 -chardev...
its easier when we do virtual switch tagging (vmbr tagging)
we create vmbr and brigded with vlan id in the ethernet ports / bond ports connected in trunk mode in physical switch
then, after that, add the vmnic to the vmbr vlan interface
for example
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0...
do the command in console
to change mtu interface manually, test it first
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 mtu 9000
ifconfig eth0 up
To change it permanently, put it in the /etc/network/interfaces
Example:
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.1
network...
im not sure pfsense will work on proxmox, since it based on freebsd
i've try many times install freebsd on proxmox without success
you can use clearos, ebox, ipfire or any other linux firewall for replacing pfsense
