My motivation to use this driver was to clock down the CPU speed to see if I could save some energy.
Before the first red circle the processor would only go back to around 2Ghz, the scaling governer was set to ondemand and with the acpi-cpufreq driver.
After the first red circle I enabled the...
Exactly the same here. Backup of a 670mb container took almost one hour. After changing primarycache and secondarycache to all it takes a couple of seconds (11 to be precise).
For anyone having the same:
$ zfs get primarycache
$ zfs set primarycache=all local-zfs
$ zfs set secondarycache=all...
Ok. I've updated my bios to the latest version and enabled CPPC specifically. I also installed kernel 6.1 after reading this topic over at the archlinux forum. This seem to solve the problem and now the clockspeed goes back to 500 with schedutil and/or ondemand. Awesome!
Open /etc/default/grub...
Yes but I don't think the 3950x is able to go lower. According to cpupower it only has 3 Pstates
# cpupower frequency-info
analyzing CPU 0:
driver: acpi-cpufreq
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
maximum...
I've been testing this with my AMD Ryzen 9 3950X but when using the amd-pstate drivers the CPU clock speed isn't reduced as much as with the acpi-cpufreq as a driver. Also powersave works but ondemand doesn't and if powersave is used it won't go beneath the 3Ghz in my case. While when using...
Hi,
I'm running the latest version of Proxmox and when I configure a LXC container to use 512M of memory and 512M of swap the swap-usage of the containers shows 1G.
LXC Configuration:
arch: amd64
cores: 1
hostname: XX
memory: 512

Some bash scripting is running in the container. Nothing fancy.
When I choose to shutdown that single container through the menu it will shutdown without a problem.
The problem seems to be related to the bulk shutdown action from the GUI or on reboot of the node when the bulk shutdown is...
During my weekly maintenance window I saw that my proxmox node did not restart because a LXC container is preventing it from rebooting. When I individually shutdown the container this works without a problem. Both from the GUI and from within the container itself. However, If i try to bulk...
I agree but because I already updated the kernel from 5.3 to 5.4 i'm not sure if the readings are working on the earlier version of the kernel. I've read 5.4 has much better support for AMD processors.
Hi,
I didn't recoqnize Tdie as CPU temperature. Because of the name: "PCI adapter" I thought it was a sensor near the PCI-E lane on the motherboard . I was searching for something like CPUTemp. Thanks for answering @wolfgang
For those interested I managed to get a lot of readouts available by...
Hi all,
I was wondering what is needed to get CPU temperature readouts working with sensors. I'm using a AMD Ryzen 3950x but the sensors detected are very limited. I hoped installing the newest 5.4 kernel would solve this but still no go
