Well I could just get a small factor PC to run as PBS, if network storage is actually supported. But this is just my homelab, and I am just testing out PBS at the moment.
Yep same here. I run PBS as a VM, so I would prefer some network storage. Right now I have just added an extra disk on that storage, but would prefer NFS/CIFS if possible.
Firsty, so pleased about the news about this product. Probably one of the biggest improvement you could make for Proxmox.
So I got the PBS setup, but since my current backup data are on my NAS, I would like to add it as CIFS/NFS share.
But when I create datastore pointing to /mnt/pvebackup it...
I tested it some time ago. Decided to drop it since apparently LXC is not supported on that.
FreeNAS is not supported anymore, so I went with Nas4Free for testing if I remember correct.
I really wish there were some shared storage with the same features as ZFS (Local)
Think you misunderstood me. For a shared NFS I meant a seperate storage system. Else you would have problems when you decide to reboot the host running NFS share.
I dont know if this will work in proxmox, it does on vmware.
Create a record in the host file on both server, where you point a dns name to the 2 different IPs.
Then both of your hosts, should see it as the same storage
Like this:
host1:
iscsi-name 192.168.130.2
host2:
iscsi-name...
