    Slow backup

Well, I had to ask, the good news is that my setup is ok ;-) Thank you

    Slow backup

Thank you for this explanation, but couldn't PBS use the same mechanics as replication for backup?

    Slow backup

Hi, Backup Server 2.1-2 Backups, while working ok (when not at the same time as replication), are very slow, in fact they take the same time as if they were full backups locally. Example for one container, hosted on NodeA, replicated on NodeB, and backup to BPS hosted on nodeB. Replication...

[solved] Very slow backup for one container

yes, this was indeed the culprit

[solved] Very slow backup for one container

Both are debian stretch, but you're right for the number of files, it happens that 104 has a *huge* number of PHP session files not properly cleaned up, that explained the extreme slowdown

[solved] Very slow backup for one container

Hi, On a host with 5 containers, one of them (VM 104) has very poor backup speed, more than 10 times slower than others. Here is the last backup log of VM 104 compared to 107, very similar in configuration. Both have very little activity, same debian system (stretch). All containers are on a...

    No summary stats

for information: restoring a new backup does have correct stats, and IIRC, the previous backups were openvz ones that were converted to LXC so it seems that it is the LXC conversion that had some problem on all containers, but that further backup/restore work ok.

    Containers: online migration and snapshot

I've been using Proxmox GUI ZFS over iSCSI, and my concern is not if if works, but if it *might* work

    Containers: online migration and snapshot

what I did exactly: for LVM: connect iSCSI using proxmox GUI install LVM over this storage using proxmox GUI tested, that works: installed a LXC on it, and did a couple of migrations. for ZFS: connect ZFS over iSCSI using proxmox GUI: storage created in GUI tried to set a new container on that...

    Containers: online migration and snapshot

yes, that's what I tried to use, but I succeeded both LVM and ZFS on it, just LVM didn't allow snapshots, and ZFS doesn't like containers EDIT: RPN-SAN is *just* iSCSI (bloc network storage), so I used LVM above it

    Containers: online migration and snapshot

I must admit I don't know, it is a RPN-SAN iSCSI at online.net, and I didn't find much information on it. But in all cases, when I setup the ZFS on iSCSI storage, it just allow images on it, no rootdir, so I assume it can't store containers, and in fact, when creating a new container, I don't...

    Containers: online migration and snapshot

I'd like to have online migration and snapshot for containers, just like I had in Proxmox 3. So far, I found that online migration now required a network storage, so I tried LVM on an iSCSI storage, but that doesn't allow snapshots. I tried also ZFS over iSCSI, but it seems I can't store...

    No summary stats

after migrate containers to another host, stats live again... That tell us 3 things: - it is not container dependant: I've done it on 8 different containers - it is not host dependant: migrating back to the origin host keeps stats living - there is something flawed with backup restore, but that...

    No summary stats

I started a previous VM (id 112) and surprise, this one show stats... So, checking what might change between this one and the others, I found that this one had an empty log in /val/log/lxc/112.log, and all others show errors in their respective log files: # cat /var/log/lxc/102.log...

    No summary stats

I too I'm facing a similar problem: on all LXC containers, only the network stats are alive. Interestingly, I had to migrate one container and change its ID (with stop/backup/restore), and while restoring on a new ID, I noticed the old one had begun to show some stats, probable some time after...
