Backup to NFS share spikes IO delay, locks up hypervisor.
I believe I suffered a similar problem. Switching from NFS to SMB/CIFS solved/bypassed it for my case. See my post https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/pve8-freeze-stuck-with-kernel-6-2-during-backup-job.178570/post-828278 Since then migrated to PVE 9.1 kernel 6.17.4-2-pve. [SOLVED] PVE8 freeze (stuck) with kernel > 6.2 during backup job
Changing the storage server on OMV from type=NFS to type=SMB/CIFS seems to solve (or bypass) the problem :):cool:, no stalls/freezes any more. Happy I can proceed with the 6.14.8-3-bpo12-pve kernel at PVE8, so migration to PVE9 looks more feasible.- ErikPVE

[SOLVED] PVE8 freeze (stuck) with kernel > 6.2 during backup job
Proxmox VE and OMV stall (freeze) when backup job run. Hi, I'm running Openmediavault (OMV) already for a long time as an VM guest at Proxmox VE (PVE) host, at an HP Proliant GEN8 microserver (XEON E3-1260L 16GB).
