Ok, eay peasy. I'll lay it out from the start although you've already done most of it:
1. Create a Virtual MAC in the OVH Manager for the main IP address your VM will use.
2. Create your VM, add the MAC that OVH gave you when you did step 1.
3. Set up your networking in your VM for the main IP...
Thought I'd report back on this. After running some "tests" OVH stated there was no issue their end. I then pointed out that was unlikely given this thread and that one of their support staff had already reported there was a problem with their network. At this point they went dark.
The next day...
I'm such an idiot. I've been wasting my time trying to figure out how to get these IPs to work on one VM when all you have to do is add the additional failover IPs to an existing Virtual Mac and then add them in the VM as an IP alias.
This hopefully helps anyone who is guilty of trying to...
I'd like to set up 4 public iPs on a VM that I'm using as an entry point to with HaProxy on it. Due to OVH using their Virtual Macs I'm unsure of the best way to do this and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I was originally going to just add 3 more NIC's to the VM but...
The VM is running CentOS 7. I haven't tried it with Debian yet but will if OVH support haven't fixed it with their tests. They're checking it out now.
I'm convinced its a switch issue their end though. Its only Failover IP's/Virtual MAC VM's affected, NAT is fine. And its exactly 10 minutes...
Yeah, I'm not a network expert (although I've learned a lot from reading this and various other forums) but it seems like its something to do with their Virtual Mac system because if I NAT the same VM I have no issue with speed drops.
Wish I'd noticed this thread before opening mine. Exact same issue, box in GRA. Almost 10 minutes to the second after restarting the VM's network the speed drops from 107MB/s to 3.5MB/s. If I do a systemctl restart network its back at 107MB/s. Been kicking myself for 2 days trying to figure out...
Hey all,
So I've been setting up a new Proxmox node from OVH and have a strange issue. So strange I've just re-installed from OVH's 4.2 template to troubleshoot. The problem is that after 10-20mins any VM will drop its internet connection speed by around 90%. Here's some info:
1. Node speed...
I am having problems configuring the first VM's networking after a fresh bare metal install of Proxmox. I have tested the IP I'm trying to add by adding it as an alias to the HN's interface and it works fine. I then remove it. Then I try to add it to a Centos7 VM using ifcfg-ens18 and...
