Host's ZFS storage shows all disks, not just its "own" disks?

I have clicked on the storage nodes in question and chose to remove them from the datacenter... nothing broke, nothing was deleted that should not have been, so I think we are back to normal operation... phew. So all good now :-)

Host's ZFS storage shows all disks, not just its "own" disks?

Yes, I did check delete source, but I think the problem is worse than that. The extra disks actually appears on the destination, not the source. Here is the beginning of the log which shows the problem (after clearing all duplicate disk images - in zfs list, there is now only one disk image...

Host's ZFS storage shows all disks, not just its "own" disks?

OK, this is more of an issue now... it seems that because each disk is listed in multiple storage folders, when migrating, it migrates multiple copies of the same image, one for each storage type added. Is it safe to delete the storage node as created in the first post? I would not want to have...

Host's ZFS storage shows all disks, not just its "own" disks?

I have added ZFS storage by going Datacenter -> Storage -> Add, choosing a zfs pool (in this case hdd-pool) and entering an Id (hdd-pool-test-16k) and entering a 16k block size (just experimenting with performance). After that, when choosing the storage tree item under the Datacenter -> Node ->...

Use Tablet For Pointer option causing CPU usage on Linux

Hi, Just testing proxmox... I was getting around 5-6% CPU usage on two different linux boxes on two different test servers, but in the guest, cpu usage in top was not really showing anything. I have done some searching and found a couple of several year old posts that talked about the Tablet...

Proxmox ZFS mirror install with one disk initially?

Thank-you, just found it in another Google search too... Didn't realise I still had to do a grub-install /dev/sdb... and that fixed it. Does anyone know if I need to worry about coping the partitions (sda1 and 2) to the new disk? The linked page does not mention it. Regards Colin

Proxmox ZFS mirror install with one disk initially?

Hi, I am trying to build a Proxmox server install running ZFS using one disk initially, then add another disk later (why? - I will be breaking another mirror and using one of its disk to start the Proxmox install, then, once all good, will use the second disk to build the mirror (I don't have...

    Issue with dhcp and netplan

Thank you both very much, firstly, yes it is a Windows DHCP server and yes, the reference example you gave fixed the problem, i.e. updating the net plan to include the dhcp-identifer option: ... enp3s0: dhcp4: yes dhcp-identifier: mac And, no, I did not change the machine-id of the...

    Issue with dhcp and netplan

Thanks for that suggestion... I have managed to get a capture from the server... I am not too sure what it is supposed to say, but think I found something strange... It goes like this: Guest A and B both go through the DHCP Discover, Offer, Request and Ack process all successfully. In the DHCP...

    Issue with dhcp and netplan

I have just done a new vm without removing IPv6, so basically use ubuntu 18.04.1 install (not the live install) with pretty much default options. Turn into a template, clone twice, and both clones have different mac addresses but get the same ip address via dhcp.

    Issue with dhcp and netplan

Hi, I am just evaluating Proxmox, and have come across a strange issue. I have made a template Ubuntu 18.04 server (with netplan by default - setup with DHCP during install, disabled ipv6 after install), and cloned it a few times. Whenever I clone it, it gets a new mac - good, but it gets the...
