proxmox 8 - how migrate vm without shared storage ?

hello. Yes your are right. If I temporarily disable the "shared" option on storage, I can perform a command-line migration. if VM stopped: qm migrate 506 pvagir6 --targetstorage MD3200_LUN81_backup if VM running: qm migrate 506 pvagir6 --targetstorage MD3200_LUN81_backup --online...

proxmox 8 - how migrate vm without shared storage ?

It's surprising that under Proxmox, you can't migrate VMs between two PVEs without shared storage. This works perfectly under VMware with vCenter. I just tested the migration with Proxmox Datacenter Manager (PDM), but I get the same error...

proxmox 8 - how migrate vm without shared storage ?

why are you migrating a VM from your "production" group members to the "backup" group? --> Because the VMs i want to migrate are still PBS and Veam Repositories :-) And i cant connect simply a Pve to the 2 SAN, because, most of my Pve have no PciE slot available, and i have no old SAS 6 HBA...

proxmox 8 - how migrate vm without shared storage ?

hello world :) Funny that my thread interested you The cluster has effectively 6 pve nodes and i try to migrate some VMs from node 2 to node 6, which i named previously "pve2" and "pve6" to simplify. The real names are "pveagir1" to "pveagir6" as you can see in the storage.cfg file...

proxmox 8 - how migrate vm without shared storage ?

hello bbgeek17 I have 6 pve on this cluster. pve 1, 2, 4 are connected physically on MD3200_Lun92_HDD storage, and can use VMs stored on it. pve 3 and 6 are connected physically on MD3200_LUN81_HDD storage, and can use VMs stored on it. I want to move some VMs from pve 2 to pve 6 , so...

proxmox 8 - how migrate vm without shared storage ?

Hello community I have a cluster with several nodes and different storages. I want to migrate a VM (preferably online, otherwise offline) from on node to another node, but there is no shared storage between the 2 nodes. I think it is possible at least if the VM is down, but i have an error...

PDM - how manage Users permissions on different clusters ?

Thank you very much for your answer. From my understanding, the maximum rights that can be granted to a PDM user are those of the connection token between PDM and the remote. So, if a connection token with "root" privileges is set on the remote, the PDM user will have root privileges on the...

PDM - how manage Users permissions on different clusters ?

thanks for your answer Dominic :-) I'll open an evolution request on the bugtracker. At a minimum, it would be desirable to be able to associate each PDM user with a specific token on each remote. If we have only one token to connect a remote, I think we won't be able to have differents rights.

PDM - how manage Users permissions on different clusters ?

Hello Community, We have 4 Proxmox clusters grouped into a single PDM. We want to manage access rights globally from the PDM for 8 users. These 8 users would be affected on 5 standard user "profiles" : Full Admin on all clusters Full Admin of cluster 1 and VMs admin only (PVEVMAdmin role)...

no physical interface on bridge 'vmbr1' after Upgrade in Proxmox 8.4.16

To resolve the problem of vlan Tagging, i need to activate "vlan awareness" on pve 8.4.16. Previously, it was not necessary until 8.4.14 ie: auto vmbr1 iface vmbr1 inet manual bridge-ports bond0 bridge-stp off bridge-fd 0 bridge-vlan-aware yes bridge-vids...

no physical interface on bridge 'vmbr1' after Upgrade in Proxmox 8.4.16

The problem appears only when i specified a vlan number on the net device of VMs: example : net0: vmxnet3=BC:24:11:3A:CF:C9,bridge=vmbr1,tag=21 If i dont specify vlan tag, the VM start...
