Proxmox 6.4 upgrade stops downloading ceph-osd

Was able to SCP the file into the /var/cache/apt/ folder, and that seems to have let the apt full-upgrade command run. Finally finished the upgrades on the 3 node cluster.

Proxmox 6.4 upgrade stops downloading ceph-osd

Hi - i'm attempting to update a clients older system, and everything goes well until attempting to run the first dist-upgrade. It gets stuck on the file listed below Get:219 http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve bullseye/pve-no-subscription amd64 zfs-zed amd64 2.1.11-pve1 [71.8 kB] Fetched...

Slow ceph journal on Samsung 850 Pro

I would suggest the Smsung SM863, as the cost is very similar to Samsung Pro 850, but performance is pretty high up there. This is connected to an ICH10 so 3GB port... ATA device, with non-removable media Model Number: SAMSUNG MZ7KM240HAGR-0E005 Firmware Revision: GXM1003Q 1 -...

Slow ceph journal on Samsung 850 Pro

Yes, I was quite shocked when i came across the results. I was expecting things to be fairly even across most of the drives. The real difference I thought was in the TBW/DWPD. Barring the NVMe and high end enterprise SAS, which are definitely in a different ball park. We just received a...

Slow ceph journal on Samsung 850 Pro

Seeing something very odd with Samsung 850 Pro SSD as Ceph journal. When running tests for speed as per: https://www.sebastien-han.fr/blog/2014/10/10/ceph-how-to-test-if-your-ssd-is-suitable-as-a-journal-device/ I'm getting extremely low numbers.: 1 - io=83448KB, bw=1390.8KB/s, iops=347, runt=...

    Change ceph network

Took the plunge last night. The above procedure does work, in terms of adding new mons, waiting for quorom, then removing the old. What made ours a bit more complex is that I was changing the NIC that we were using for vmbr and the ceph side. I temporarily used the 1Gb network that has the...

    Change ceph network

Hoping someone else has done this first...going to upgrade the network that my ceph runs on and wondering if my thinking is correct. Based on http://docs.ceph.com/docs/master/rados/operations/add-or-rm-mons/ it seems that the way to accomplish this is to first get the new network hardware up...

    Change cluster network

Wolfgang - That's where I got the steps from. I was just hoping for more info or any glitches that I should be on the lookout for. Fortunately, nothing happened. Thanks again

    net_ratelimit filling messages

Been trying to figure out why our messages file on one of the nodes is getting full of these entries: Mar 29 20:50:25 pve151201 pve-ha-lrm[9984]: <root@pam> starting task UPID:pve151201:00002702:01E7B568:56FB22D1:qmigrate:7014:root@pam: Mar 29 20:50:29 pve151201 kernel: [319806.801176]...

    Change cluster network

Wondering what the best process would be to change the cluster network to a different network range. I've prepared the hosts file with the new ip/hostname. I can ping by name and ip. I also have corosync.conf with the new node IP/Names and ready to go with the new config_version number...

    Backup randomly freezes node

Hi, We seem to be having an issue with our nodes. We were running nightly backups of all VMs across our 3 node setup. However, we would experience random lockups on a random node that would require a reboot of the node. Our nodes are also running ceph. Primary network adapter for management...

    Conversion Issue

Hi, Mysql was not configured to run in a chroot originally. Not sure that would have been changed during the conversion process... Thanks, Carlos.

Issue with pct after exiting lxc

I'm using pct enter <vmid>, similar to the way we did previously with vlctl enter. The problem happens when doing a reboot from within the container and wait until we get kicked. If we exit the container and issue shutdown/start commands, we do not see the issue.

    Conversion Issue

wind, Tried that and no change in the container behavior. I'm using pct enter <vmid>, similar to the vzctl enter <vmid> we used in Proxmox 3.x. We are migrating from centos 6 OpenVZ to LXC (proxmox 3.2 to 4.1) using the backup/restore process. The major change is Storage, moving from a...

    Conversion Issue

Also, the problem isn't just limited to the path, we're seeing all sorts of issues - on a mail relay server, getting error message can't connect to mail, on sql servers, applications can't connect to the mysql.sock. Something must be off in the conversion process...I just don't know enough...
