Great! Feel free to mark this thread as solved by editing the opening post and selecting the prefix from the subject drop down. Blockbridge : Ultra low latency all-NVME shared storage for Proxmox - https://www.blockbridge.com/proxmox

Thanks @bbgeek17. 'a' worked. I had a feeling I was going to need to try that, but its a bit awkward to do in my setup - needed to create a new vm to be able to debootstrap it, etc. I was hoping for an easy answer or something wrong in my...

I'd say this is not surprising at all. Very often when network-dependent services start without network being available they are not able to properly engage. A restart is a prudent step. Blockbridge : Ultra low latency all-NVME shared storage...

Hi @ertanerbek, we’re mostly on the same page: Fibre Channel is far from dead in large enterprise environments. That said, investing in legacy entry SANs (for example an HPE MSA or older Dell ME models), or even trying to repurpose them, purely...

Hi @criva , can you clarify what has changed? You mentioned that "situation has improved" - does it mean the backup is no longer reading zeroes? I'd be surprised if NAS dedup/compression is playing a role in serving client hosts zeroes instead...

Yes, we are on the same page about it. The OP seemed to indicate that PBS in their particular case is remote. Fleecing storage is still a benefit, even if PBS is brought local and then synced to remote site. Blockbridge : Ultra low latency...

Even though PVE and Ceph operate in a hyperconverged setup, the two stacks remain independent, as you’ve discovered. Their quorum/voting mechanisms are separate, which means you can end up in a “hyperconverged split-brain” scenario. As @aaron...

This situation seems to me as a candidate for improvement. An ISO reference in snapshot should not prevent HA/manual migration, or require snapshot deletion. When/if the system rolls back to that snapshot - there is no guarantee that ISO is...

All the messages you posted are normal for a system that is not properly connected. Take a look at the state of your networking: ip a ip route cat /etc/network/interfaces Blockbridge : Ultra low latency all-NVME shared storage for Proxmox -...

Oh, I see. Thank you. With that strict list in mind, you're right. This list would however apply to any storage vendor as the only viable PVE option is mpath+lvm in such a setup, yet it would still work without a problem as you already said.

Which, if not reachable or slow to respond, can possibly upset the pvestatd, which can affect the GUI functionality :-) Blockbridge : Ultra low latency all-NVME shared storage for Proxmox - https://www.blockbridge.com/proxmox

bbgeek17 reacted to leesteken's post in the thread strange issues with snapshot backups with Like Like.
And it also prevents PVE from connecting to the remove PBS every 10 seconds (which is something people also complain about).

Hi @zahidislam , You can start by running the commands that were recommended by @UdoB in #2. Also "pvesm status". Report their output (using text enclosed with CODE tags). Also, check your system log: journalctl -n 100 ; journalctl -f...

Yes, they could. However, if the link to this offsite PBS is not great, they could run into various other edge conditions. For example: active changes with slow link may mean a requirement for fleecing storage to be close to 100% of the primary...

Hi @Kurgan, Based on a quick review, LVM-thin appears to offer better durability characteristics than QCOW2 for a few reasons: LVM-thin stores its metadata in a B-tree and applies updates transactionaly (though not via a traditional journal)...

These are the items listed there: Native Linux MPIO // yes, this one matches, but in PVE with shared storage it is used in combination with LVM Regular Linux Logical Volume Manager on standalone host // does not match - PVE uses LVM but not as...

Hi @PoschMox93 , welcome to the forum. At a high level it appears that this might work with PVE. Keep in mind that for shared storage PVE does not employ either SCSI3 reservations or any of the items listed here...

A "snapshot backup" creates a dirty bitmap at QEMU level (not storage) of the blocks that are being changed during the backup. If the block is changed during the backup but prior to this block actually placed in backup media two things can...

Hi @Mihoo , welcome to the forum. You should examine the context of /etc/pve/node/[node-name] - they should not have duplicate ID configuration files. Blockbridge : Ultra low latency all-NVME shared storage for Proxmox -...
