Unexpected Notification Behaviour

Howdy!

So, I've got my Proxmox cluster set up to send notifications via a local SMTP relay. I have the built-in mail-to-root target unused, and have set up the relay as its own target. Testing works fine. I wanted to disable notifications sent for successful backup jobs however, to minimise alert fatigue.

To do this, I've got two matchers set up. The first one is:

-At least one rule does not match
--Match Field: type=vzdump
--Match severity: info, notice, warning, error, unknown

And the second is:

-All rules match
--Match severity: error
--Match field: type=vzdump

The idea is the first matcher should get all non-backup notifications, while the second should match only backup failures. To my knowledge, this worked as expected on my previous cluster.

The issue is that I don't seem to be receiving notifications as expected - the biggest instance being that I'm not receiving software update notifications which is a bit of a pain! Can we see anything obviously wrong with my setup? Anything to keep an eye out for logs-wise would be good too, as I'm a little lost! It'd also be good to know if there's a good way of me testing notifications here - e.g a way of forcing a 'software available' notification to try and send to try and narrow this down.

What does this output:
Code:
cat /etc/pve/datacenter.cfg
Thanks for the reply! Uh nothing really interesting, spits out:

Code:
crs: ha-auto-rebalance=1,ha-rebalance-on-start=1,ha=static
keyboard: en-gb
migration: secure,network=10.247.1.20/24
replication: secure,network=10.247.1.20/24

That IP being the one of the main 10 gig link the nodes use for non-corosync stuff

To be able to have package update notifications turned on, you need:
Code:
pvesh set /cluster/options --notify package-updates=always
This will trigger cluster-wide.

You can then check again your /etc/pve/datacenter.cfg which should contain the line:
Code:
notify: package-updates=always

Ah, thanks! Weird this wasn't working by default, maybe it's because my new cluster was a fresh install. Will see how it goes!
