How can I make gluetun work in PVE?

Hey there, I've installed gluetun in a docker container on a VM in Proxmox and I'd like to use it on some of my existing docker containers. I'm pretty sure I've set it up correctly, but I don't know how to connect it to my other containers.

Let's start off by doing 1 container if possible, as if I've done 1, i could probably do the rest myself. This is what my system looks like now:

Code:
Proxmox Host

├─LXC container

    ├─docker

          ├─qbittorrent

├─debian VM

      ├─docker

           ├─gluetun

Is it possible for qbittorrent to use gluetun? If so, could someone please help me with this? Thank you :)

hi,

it seems like you are making this setup much more complicated than it needs to be by running the Docker containers in strictly separated environments (VM and LXC).

The easiest way to set this up is to combine the qBittorrent and Gluetun services into a single Docker Compose file, running on a single Docker daemon in either the LXC or the VM. This allows you to attach the qBittorrent container directly to Gluetun's network stack.

You can see an example of this structure here: Example Docker Compose (Github). Please make sure you review and understand how it works before using it, as I have not verified this specific setup and the repository has not been updated in over 3 years.

Hey there,

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I already found online that the easier way is to do it as you said, but I don't wanna do it that way because of the way I already have everything set up. So I was more asking if I can still do it with my current setup. If it's not possible I'd rather just not use gluetun at all instead of completely changing my current setup.
