This chart on PVE home screen is in Megabits or in Megabytes ?

It's definitely bytes; either MB or MiB. Probably megabytes (1000000 bytes).

What's that supposed to mean? What would make my answer more "human"? I've been on this forum longer than LLM's exist.

From my measurement, I can't tell if it is 1024^2 or 1000^2 (as the difference is too small to see for me) but it's bytes, otherwise the graph would be a factor of 8 off.
