I recently purchased a server, that I thought had UEFI, and it turned out it was missing that feature. XCP-NG ends support for Legacy bios in the upcoming version, so instead of being without support, I figure i migrate to proxmox. However, my setup would be quite easy to migrate if it weren't for the storage configuration, gpu-passtrough, and the fact that I have barely used proxmox. I am also taking security seriously, so I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it necesary to harden the environment before starting to use it? I found this hardening guide on Github: https://github.com/HomeSecExplorer/Proxmox-Hardening-Guide and some of it I would apply and some things not. But overall I think it was a good guide, but it makes it feel more insecure than XCP-NG right out of the gate.
2. Since I will have 3 types of RAID configurations on my server, what do I need to think about? (RAID 1 - OS + ISO preferably) (RAID 10 - Fast storage) (RAID 6 - Bulk storage) I read somewhere that there is some path that might need adjusting for some reason. The RAID will be handled by a proper RAID card, so the OS should only see three volumes.
3. I have no idea how to even start on gpu-passthrough, I guess I learn as I go, however a bit of guidance wouldn't hurt.
4. Note that this is only a homelab environment, so nothing is really critical, and the VM:s I can manage myself, as long as I know how to configure the backbone of the server.
