Unable to change boot kernel on Proxmox host

I have a small cluster at home for testing with three nodes. On two of them, I was able to change the Proxmox host boot kernel without any problems, very easily using the Proxmox tools, but on one of them there is no way, and as always, it is the one I need. What is special about this machine is that I applied the Proxmox xshok script to it at the time, and no matter how hard I try, there is no way.

Hello, virusbcn.
Hard to give any hints because you have written no details about your PVE and what exactly you did and what were the outputs.
Good that you have admitted you used "the Proxmox xshok script" some time.

From what I managed to find, this is a collection of scripts which are able to interfere heavily with the PVE, last updated 3 years ago. You may ask for help the author of these scripts.
Or find the exact differences between the vanilla PVE and the PVE modified by these scripts.

Thanks onslow

Yes, absolutely true, I don't even remember why I applied that script. I guess it was to try it out and learn what to do when setting up a homelab like this, something I would never do in production. The thing is, I don't know what to do now.
Should I reinstall Proxmox on top of it?
Delete and recover backups from scratch?
Or does anyone know how to remove this script and start from scratch?

The answers depend. I don't know. Maybe if you post what exactly you've done trying "to change the Proxmox host boot kernel" AND what were the outputs, someone will have any idea.

If you post the commands and the results, please use "code tags" (the button marked as "</>" above).
