I reinstalled PROXMOX on a new Server. Resulting in new storage names. then I restored my VMs from backup. but it seams the old storage names are still stored in VM information. So when I try a snapshot it tries to snapshot to the old storage, resulting in an error. under hardware the new storage names is noted.
Where must I change the name.

I appreciate any hint.

Hi,
please share the output of cat /etc/pve/storage.cfg, pveversion -v as well as a problematic VM configuration, qm config ID with the actual ID.

Hi Fiona,

thank you for your answer,

It is the same for all VMs. I remember I had similar in my evaluation time with PROXMOX. That time there was a storage name not updated after restored the VM from Backup to a new set up PROXMOX host with new storage names.

Kind Regards

How exactly did you restore the backups? Were those .vma files or Proxmox Backup Server archives?

Proxmox VE will update the references to the disks when restoring, a lot of people are using it everyday and it's not broken for others, so it has to be something rather specific. That's why it's necessary for you to share the configurations to see more details.

Hi Fiona,

Sorry, do not exact remember how I restored, think I used the GUI of PBS.
For the moment I am quite busy in a software project I have to finish for a customer. so the snapshot problem is secondary.

Kind Regards

Rainer

Will come back when i have more time
