We are in the process of moving Proxmox into production in our environment. One of the key preparation steps is building a solid monitoring plan. We want to ensure we cover all the critical aspects before going live.
What are the recommended critical settings that should be monitored, specifically in regards to the hosts and clusters? Specific Proxmox services that need to be monitored on top of the default Linux services?
How can we monitor free space on the storage? (local storage)
Are there any specific Proxmox metrics that are often overlooked but are important for stability/performance?
Our corporate monitoring solution is Dynatrace. Are there any integrations with Dynatrace? Anybody experience with Proxmox in combination with Dynatrace monitoring?
Do we need to install agents on the PVE hosts? Does Proxmox allow this? Will it impact Proxmox support if we would install agents?
Can Dynatrace collect and monitor useful Proxmox metrics out-of-the-box?
We'd prefer not to deviate from our monitoring standards and have to implement addition tooling for Proxmox monitoring, like Prometheus/Grafana/Zabbix...
Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated.
