[SOLVED] Proxmox and Terramaster H5 Hybrid DAS

Hi,

I just bought the terramaster H5 Hybrid DAS system with 2 HD installed.

It does not work. Lost connection, stalling fsck, I see the below in DMSG

Apparently there are issues with UAS as some forums discuss.

Anybody had issues/success/fixes for this kind of system ?

I am running proxmox 8.4.1 on x86 server using USB 3.2

More likely than not it is a hardware issue. Anywhere from DAS, to USB cable, to USB port, to USB card, and anything in the middle and both ends.

PVE is not a special-purpose black-box OS. It is based on Debian Linux with Ubuntu derived Kernel. A USB connected device throwing errors is 99.9999% hardware fault.

I stopped using USB with PVE years ago due to the unpredictable performance issues and random errors. If you want a stable setup, go with SAS-attached DAS.

Thanks for your answer. Indeed. Highest quality cable I could buy worked at first try. I get ~400Mb sustained transfers and no re connection issues.
