Hello

I'm building for a client a ProLiant DL360 Gen11 sas with 8 disks.

I think the controller is not available with proxmox installer ?
How do I add a specific driver to install something on the drive 1 ?

Thanks for help

Make sure you've created the logical drives first using the SAS controller's configuration interface (usually accessible via F8 or F10 during boot). The operative systems will only detect the array once it’s been initialized there.

SAS controllers typically require you to create logical drives (RAID arrays) before the OS can see any storage devices because the OS communicates with the SAS controller instead of the physical disks directly.

Using RAID0 (striping) in production is not recommended due to lack of redundancy. If one disk fails, you lose all data on the array. For production environments, if you're using hardware RAID, it’s better to use RAID1 (mirroring) or other RAID levels to ensure data protection.

If you want to manage each disk separately in Proxmox (for example, for ZFS or individual passthrough), check if your SAS controller supports JBOD or HBA mode, which exposes each disk directly without RAID abstraction.

You can find more details in the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen11 documentation and your specific SAS controller manual.

with 2 disks for the proxmox install I can only have raid0
Not going to sacrifice 4 disks for raid5 for boot
This mobo is really to avoid
