[SOLVED] SMB Share with dollar sign in the password

I tried to add an SMB-share, but my problem is the the password contains "$$". Does anyone as an idea how the type hast to be? The passwords looks similar to "xxxx$$xxxx".

I know the problem regarding dollar-signs in passwords, but for the moment I have no chance to change the password or to use another user.

Depending on the context where you're using the password it may need to be in single quotes ('xxxx$$xxxx') or be escaped (xxx\$\$xxx).

This I thought also with escape characters before I tested, they are allowed? Most web forms exclude escape characters due to security.

did work for you the solution with quotes ('xxxx$$xxxx') or be escaped (xxx\$\$xxx), I tried to simulate without the positive result.

create storage failed: connection check for storage 'testfolder' failed - session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE (500)

Like I said, it depends on the context. It isn't clear to me whether the OP is using a web form or the API or the command line or what.

it´s a windows share and I tired
* escaping xxxx\$\$xxxx -> unexpected satus: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED (500)

Problem soveld, my problem was using the password from the icinga2 configuration, there the password has to be used with "xxxx$$xxxx". at Proxmox VE it requires only "xxxx$xxxx"
