ISO Retention

once the iso's in local (pve) /iso images are used to build a vm can they be deleted. I have some old iso's of Ubuntu ie: 18.04 that if not used in some fashion with the vm i created would like to clean house

Select left storage "local", select in middle "ISO Images", select your old ubuntu-18.04 iso und press "Remove" button on top.
Or "cd /var/lib/vz/template/iso/ ; ls -l ; rm ubuntu-18.04*.iso"

Yes, but you should remove the virtual DVD drive from the VM which points to the ISO.
