I've got latest Proxmox running on this box and it's very happy through the onboard NIC. This is a 1GB link.

Had access to a FlexIO V2 10GB NIC that is supposed to be supported. Installed it physically but nothing showing in the BIOS (but wouldn't necessarily expect it to). As far as I can tell through the Proxmox command line the interface isn't being seen. i.e. the flexio isn't working in the PC.
I'm not great with networking command line stuff as it changes from linux to linux these days and the simpler newer versions seem more complex to me but with help...

Few docs available from HP, so wondering whether anyone else has this configuration and got the NIC to work with Proxmox?

I'm trying to avoid backing up the system drive, reinstalling windows just to see if the NIC is/isn't working and then restoring Proxmox to the drive... mainly because I've lent my USB NVME interface to someone so it's several copies on other machines to go through that!

Thanks.

I have that NIC in a elitedesk 800 G9 and it works fine with Proxmox. I suspect that NIC is not compatible with the 805 G6

Thanks. So at least the OS should recognise the part, that's a start.
Some suppliers in the UK list this for the model I have. It's also physically compatible with the double socket arrangement (if a little fiddly to fit) but that's not a guarantee of course.
...Of course if there are 2 part numbers both called the same...
and it could be duff as well.
Guess I need to go to HP.

Just a quick update in case anyone ever passes again with similar question.
The FlexIO V2 10GB NIC mis compatible with the 805 according to HP and in reality.
I had to go back and try a couple more times to get the unit to seat properly in the socket at which point, all auto discovered and active. Not sure if it's either of the hardware pieces or just because it can be fiddly because the coneectrs are v small.
Anyway that's the good news. Less so is the fact that I have so far only got 6.5GB out of it, but that's better than 1, 2.5 & 5 and I have time to play with the network to see if I can improve it any more.

Is it the Elitedesk 805 G6 Mini or the Elitedesk 805 G6 SFF (non mini) HP Variant that works for you with the FlexIO V2 10G NIC?

Not quite sure what's going on, just got a reply flagged from board from AndiiiHD but it's not here.

Anyway, answer to the question is:

It's an HP Elitedesk 805 G6 Desktop Mini PC (3.5cm high)

Prod no. 21L41EA#ABU

Thank you for the info, my post has been in a "needs to be checked by admin" state. Maybe thats why you haven't seen it. Maybe cause i am new to this forum. The reason why i asked is as followed: I own the SFF (bigger) Variant and got Problems with an 10G card in the x16 PCIe Slot - the HP simplywon't boot. Unplugging the card helps then. The card also works in the PCIe x4 Slot but this Slot is blocked by an NVMe Adapter card already. So i may change to the HP addon board to give it a try.
