How to move data from one local datastore to another?

Hi, We have 1 datastore with 33Tb of backups in. I have realised this was setup incorrectly as it is using root path. I'd like to create a new Datastore to rectify this and move all data across to that, is it possible?

Hi,
a local sync job will allow you to sync the contents from one local datastore to the other (also into sub-namespaces), see https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/managing-remotes.html#sync-jobs

Will this move the data or copy it? we only have 33Tb of space and 98% is used up now

Chunk boundary is at datastore level, so if you sync to different datastores than this will copy the chunks, yes. (not considering possible deduplication by the filesystem backing the datastores).

Got it, is there a way to move instead of copy so we dont have to double the disk space available to do it?
