Hi guys,

Have looked through the plethora of threads but still unable to fix this issue when trying to install lshw:

root@pve:~# apt install lshw
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package lshw

I believe my repos are right and install is up to date so I am at a loss as to what is wrong. Please help!

Thanks!

Can you please post the output of `apt update` command?

Hi,

It seems the issue is related to DNS resolution in your server, I would check the network configuration to ensure that your DNS settings are correctly configured.

You can check the DNS resolver using `nslookup ftp.debian.org` command.

Ah fantastic, I left the DNS/nameserver as 127.0.0.1 during the install not knowing what to put it as, but having changed that in /etc/resolv.conf to 8.8.8.8 it seems to have fixed my issues!
