Backup PVE Bare-metal, any soon?

Any idea when we would perform a Proxmox VE bare-metal backup?
It's coming about? When??

Probably never? I am not affiliated with Proxmox, but that capability would seem to be way outside their remit. Plus there are very good open source options already available.
