[SOLVED] vzdump - --notification-policy failure --notification-target mail-to-admin

hi,

although i have specified --notification-policy = failure, a notification mail will be send to notification-target in any case (failure and success).

what did i miss?

have you tested if notifications work at all? You can do that by selecting the target and clicking the Test button above.

yes i've tested and it works.

i do not need a notification mail if vzdump has succeeded. i need a notification mail only in case of failure.

What is the output from cat /etc/pve/datacenter.cfg & cat /etc/pve/notifications.cfg

Ah sorry, somehow read it as it never works, not always ^^
You should be able to modify the notification matcher in your notification settings to only send you notifications when a specific severity is matched.

Notifications, in general have had a rehaul, with some bumps. Start here for example.

Yes, the notification system had some parts redone lately and this parameter has functionally been replaced by the changes. The man pages that mark the flag as deprecated has yet to be published, but is on its way.

BTW, I believe the correct convention would have been:

--notification-policy failure
