Hi, I am new to Proxmox. I am struggling to use samba share in a container
  1. I have created a samba share.
  2. have successfully created storage of type SMB/CIFS
  3. I can mount and see the contents of the shared folder when I access it via pve shell
  4. Under one of my containers, I then added a mount point using this SMB/CIFS storage and a mount path
  5. So far so good
However, when I try to browse the mount path under container, I see an empty folder. Don't see the contents that I am able to see in step 3 above.
I must have done something wrong.

Who can help me?

thanks,
Avinash

When working with network shares and LXCs you better use privileged LXCs. These can directly mount SMB shares inside the LXC after enabling the CIFS feature for the LXC. If you care about security use a VM instead which also allows you to mount SMB shares directly within the guestOS. Unprivileged LXCs won't allow that. Here you have to work with bind-mounts and user remapping: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Unprivileged_LXC_containers
