No storage available for backup

Hello,

I have a newly installed PVE 2.1
My local storage is the only storage available.

However, when I try to create a backup, I cannot select any storage, therefore I cannot create the backup.

How can I make the local storage displayed?

Go to: Storage - Select local - edit: add Backup.

BUT, even you can use "local" drive/partition as a backup this is not a good point. Imagine if you local destroyed then your backup is gone too!
So, I suggest you use other disk to save your backup files.

BTW: The interface in this case is very subtle. I would have never noticed it myself.

Maybe the designers here can create a more obvious interface.

And yes, you are right this is not a very good backup, I just need a copy of a VM.
