Snapshots of VMs with multiple hard disks without suspending.

Hi,

I'm planning to create a backup job to take daily snapshots of all VMs (we have KVM only).

Most of our VMs have 2 hard disks. I've read: http://forum.proxmox.com/threads/2728-snapshot-mode-goes-to-suspend

Is there no way to take snapshots of VMs with >1 hard disk without suspending? (I'm asking again cous Its been 3 years since that post, otherwise I'd have my answer already)

What happens if the VMs has data being modified during the snapshot job? (Nothing found here: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Backup_-_Restore_-_Live_Migration)

Should snapshots backups go directly to a dedicated LVM volume or to the local drive? (Or NFS share, etc.)

Thanks in advanced.

Regards,
Joel.

i think no because the two snapshots have to be made at the same time thatswhy the vm is suspended for less than a second.

I didn't know it was less than a second, I can afford that.

Just to understand, when we talk about "snapshot/backup suspend" does It mean that the proxmox "stops" access to the VM, does the snapshot, and "enables" access again, or would it be the equivalent to when you suspend a Windows OS that It dumps ram to the hd and "powersoff" saving the state?

Sorry If I'm not explaining myself to well.

Regards,
Joel.

suspend -> snapshot disk1 -> snapshot disk2 -> resume -> backup disk1 -> backup disk2
i'm not a big ace but i think it only "freezes" the vm, it happens really fast.
