allright, i've just read through the pve2.0 ha wiki page with all its recommendations, but i'm confused about the fencing part.

at the moment, i'm using a cluster of 4 servers.

each one is identical: lacp bonding to a cisco switch, iscsi-lvm san (san itself being mirrored to another identical one), and redundant power supply on 2 separate ups cirquits. yay me for already matching the needs for ha \o/

but according to your wiki page, i now also need a network controlled power switcher in between, however your example is only with one of those. how does the configuration work when i have 2 separate power cirquits as suggested (and thus requiring me to get 2 of those pdu units) ?

could someone please elaborate a bit on this subject ? thanks & merry christmas.

A power supply an an fencing device is something completely different.

Maybe you can use those ups as fencing devices (do they have a IP interface).
they do not.

but after applying the "please google help me" approach, i randomly guess you need the "fencing device" to power cycle a node (aka off/on) in case of ... dont know, problems. my supermicro boards do have an ip addressable ipmi interface wich i use to check the hardware values like temperature etc. i've found an example configuration for the redhat cluster using ipmi, would that also work as fencing device for the pve ha solution ?
