Hello I get this error when i try to update my Proxmox server V 7.1-4

hi,

two things:

* Temporary failure resolving ... please check your node's internet connectivity and network/DNS settings.
* Ignoring file 'pve-enterprise.list.backup' ... as it has invalid filename extension change the name of that file if you need it
 
Also check your repositories. They aren't all on the same version. Debians are on "Bullseye", but ProxMox is on "Buster". For 6.x they should all be on "Buster" and for 7.x they all should be on "Bullsseye".

first fix your network configuration.

is this a PVE 6 or PVE 7 installation? check the output of pveversion command.

if you're on PVE 6, then "buster" is the correct one to use. for PVE 7, the correct one is "bullseye".

you'll need to edit the apt source lists on your node (located in /etc/apt/sources.list file and /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory) to use "bullseye" instead of "buster". you can also use the GUI to add/enable/remove repositories.

check our wiki for information about the package repositories as well [0]

if your version is PVE 6, you'll first need to finish upgrading your node [1]

Because your DNS or even your routing is (still) not working.

What is the output of:

cat /etc/network/interfaces
cat /etc/resolv.conf
ping 8.8.8.8

Basically that looks pretty good, but someone/body is messing with your DNS-resolving.

Whats the output of?

ping download.proxmox.com
ping ftp.de.debian.org
 
I'm also more or less stuck. And Google doesn't help me either :(

Since when is this happening? Being on 7.1.4 you must have updated before (I think).

Tell me a bit more about how you installed it and if there are changes made lately.
 
This is my first installation on a local server of the company so I installed this latest version 7.1-4

Can it have a relationship between this and the firewall of the company? in other terms, it is the firewall that prevents access to its packages?

Maybe. You are now using an external DNS (8.8.8.8/google) maybe that's not allowed. Don't you have an internal DNS-server?

Whats the output of?

telnet 8.8.8.8 53
 
Ok, that looks ok.

So I'm prettuy stuck too. Maybe if you tell a little bit more of how you did install and how your environment (network etc.) looks like we get some new ideas of what is happening here.
 
can you try using a different DNS server? maybe 1.1.1.1 will work?

where is this server hosted? maybe your ISP or hosting provider has a DNS server which you could use.
