I actually don't use it. I don't think that bareos will develope a deep integration like this.
But I use Bacula community edition with Proxmox ve since many years and it works very well.

How are you using the Community Edition please? What I mean is, are you running it within a VM, or are you running it on the PM server itself, or.....

I have two diffrent setups. The bigger one is with a dedicated bacula server. The other smaller one is with bacula on the proxmox host itself. But i have plans to change this and install bacula in a own VM.

In fact Bacula Systems sends its features after 2-3 years in enterprise edition to the community one. This means sooner or later this developed module will be available for Bacula Community users for free too.

Because Proxmox by itself can sometimes be not enough. An average enterprise has more than one virtualization technology, various databases and applications that need to be backed up from a single interface that will give you insights on your backup jobs and restores, their timings, actual RTO and RPO as well as storage sizing for the future. If you'll use Proxmox's solution which is of course great you won't be able to manage the backups of your enterprise simulataneously.
