Made a mistake with ethernet cable

Was giving physical maintainance on a Proxmox node -server PC-. Connected it again and powered on, but realized I had forgotten to plug ethernet cable!
Had to poweroff again, plug cable, then power on again.

*Seemingly* it's working normally... but this kind of negligence, can it have potential consequences in general, either for node itself and all VMs? I have 2 Centos 7 VMs, with static ip configurations, set to automatically start once node is up!

Immediate power off (no graceful shutdown) comprises always the risk of inconsistent data on disks - depending on currently taking place write operations. On the other hand root filesystem's integrity is checked in start-up phase and repaired in necessary. If you are unsure make a manual filesystem check for all your filesystems as well as inside the VMs.
 
The negligence I was talking about was NOT the powering off!! I did shut it down the right way. Please read well the text and actual question.
 
No, you could also plug in the ethernet cable while the server is running the next time. Also: Manners, please.
