Slow NFS performance

I've got a freenas box serving up shared storage via NFS to my proxmox cluster. It's connected via 1 gig bonds, and when testing the disks themselves on the device, give plenty of IO.

However, when I run pveperf on it, i'm getting sub 200 fsyncs/sec, which to me is absurdly low.

I'm guessing it's something to do with NFS and syncwrites and how ZFS handles them. However, I can't see a place in proxmox to change how that's handled. Any help?

For storage NFS or ZFS over ISCSI you need 10Gbit and fast CPU/HDDs.

Alright. Do you know if the Intel X540-T2 Cards are supported then? I'd happily slap a set of those in each machine if needed.

Well, X520-D2 works on HP G7 servers with Proxmox very well. If you want 10G cards, try to look for sfp+, they are better than rj45.

Yes they are working very well

Well, I've already got a surplus of the 10g rj45 switches, so going that route.

Now you will have more heat and power eaten with bigger latency Well, still better than 1G.
