Saw these threads on installing OpenVPN on Proxmox:

http://martinlanner.com/2009/06/10/how-to-install-openvpn-access-server-on-proxmox-ve/

https://openvpn.net/index.php/acces...-to-run-access-server-on-a-vps-container.html

http://techwatch.keeward.com/geeks-and-nerds/how-to-install-openvpn-on-proxmox-ve/

But when I try to follow them, it turns out that I don't have an /etc/vz/vz.conf file. I'm running PRoxmox VE 4.0-57. Do I need to create one?

Thanks for any help you can give me on this.

Ok - is there a how-to on how to to get it installed? Not finding much of anything that shows how to get that going...
I don't understand what you are trying to do.

Personally I would install openvpn in a KVM. You can follow literally any guide for your preferred OS inside a KVM

^^THIS.

Openvz was a huge pain to get to work, with all the requisites and tinkering you had to do in order to achieve it for almost no additional benefit. Not sure about LXC nowadays - haven't tried it. I use KVM and be done with it. Runs great, right alongside my pfSense box(s) :p It might not be as low on resource usage, but duh - i do not wanna hosts 400 OpenVPN Vm's on the same box anyways.
