Hi @ns33,
It really depends on your applications. Neither vendor is a universally "better" choice, and the right answer comes from the workloads you plan to run.
That said, my general preference is single-socket servers for anything network or...
well in my case, it turned out to be a HW issue. The Tesla K80 that I have has 2 dies and it basically is 2 GPUs on 1 card but in many ways still acts and looks like 2 GPUs. GPU 1 is good but GPU 2 has a HW problem so as long as I was only...
Funny enough. After 48houres ZFS automagicly removed the sda..sdb...sdc.. a.s.o namning by itself.
Now the pool display the disks by uniqe identifiler number. So yea, ZFS is magic :-)
This what happned now wouldent be possible if i RAID mode in...
Does anyone have insight on which is a better choice? Or pitfalls of one vs the other?
We're spec'ing a cluster out for work and seeking dual cpu nodes, min 64 threads per numa nodes. AMD does save a bit a cash but are there any negatives?

Thanks for sharing this! That padding trick just saved my setup too.
I was hitting the exact same Not a proper rbd authentication file error after recent updates on PVE 9.2. Adding the trailing = to the key in /etc/pve/priv/ceph/ and restarting...
Hi,
Sorry I answered too fast.
After upgrading Broadcom firmware, server boot with network up now but after a few minutes network goes down again.
I check in the BIOS for SR-IOV global and I/OAT DMA. Both are Enabled
I can't investigate...
@ghusson, this thread is specifically about FC connectivity with a particular QLogic card, so I don't think recommending iSCSI would be directly applicable to the posters' situation.
That said, the best way to confirm hardware compatibility...

A new article finally showing what a small ARM box running PVE is capable of:

One more GX10 post, the last one for now. After battling the black screen, the hard resets and the power cap, we were finally able to see what this box and PVE on arm64 can do.
Out of the box, the kernel initiator managed NVMe/TCP reads at 6.3...

Several things to try :
- configure iSCSI initial link through GUI (add iSCSI in storage)
- apt install multipath-tools-boot && update-initramfs -u -k all
On an upgrade + repo change I had to fix some packet versions in order to go forward.
You can try this, at your own risks...
apt-get install --allow-downgrades \
ceph=19.2.3-pve4 \
ceph-base=19.2.3-pve4 \
ceph-common=19.2.3-pve4 \...
Try to disable hardware offloading. Adapt this for example to your /etc/network/interface file :
post-up ethtool -K <physical interface name> gso off gro off tso off tx off rx off rxvlan off txvlan off
in the physical interface section.
connect through SSH
issue this command : pvecm expected 1
now you can operate, but warning : there is no split brain mecanism
example : move vm configuration files to the remaining host directories in order to boot them (if storage is available).
As @smitec propose, you can use any program for USB sharin through IP. Example : https://github.com/ameggs/OpenUSBIP
Depending of your usage case, it can be simpler thant SPICE.
