Yes, lvm/thin is not cluster-aware so you will risk a loss of data. It's not supported for a reason, see also the table on https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage which clearly states that lvm/thin is NOT a shared storage.
No for exactly the...
Hi,
using the snapshot capability of your SAN provider, relies on the consistency capabilities of the SAN and
you will loose the VM hardware configuration of the VM at the time of the snapshot, because that one is only stored in the Proxmox...
Quick thought: since SSH and ping work across subnets but port 8006 does not, and the standalone node (which never carried the cluster config) is reachable, I would stop doubting the Sophos and look at what pveproxy itself is doing on the two...
Thanks for the links, good reading.
A few notes on zswap since you bring it up.
On the Proxmox kernel it's built in but disabled by default. I checked on a 7.0.14-pve host:
# cat /sys/module/zswap/parameters/enabled

# cat...
I have not tried autopurge yet. I re-enabled both unmounted shares and only the Synology NFS share remounted on it's own. The ISO_Storage ext4 share is still unmounted. Note the "?" on the icon.
Just for laughs I tried mount...

I wanted OME to display my Proxmox hostnames the same way it displays ESXi hosts. I ended up building an offline Podman-based deployment of Dell iSM that runs as a Quadlet service on Proxmox VE 9. It reports the Proxmox hostname, Debian version...
Thanks for the advice and the lessons!
You’re right—I’m a newcomer to Proxmox and the intricacies of Linux, and I use tteck’s scripts in a rather amateur, superficial way. However, that approach gives beginners a chance to use and explore...
OK, the drives were unmounted. I had to first untick the "Enable" box in Datacenter > Storage > Edit and then run the command umount /mnt/pve/<share_name> to unmount the shares.
ISO_Storage and Synology are now gone.
Using gdu / and going to...
