And sometimes it works, even if it is unsupported/untested. But not this case - and it is important to know how it behaves.

its sort of solved using dd, on the original vm, so it's sparse source which causes the issue. sparse source on Dell Powerstore. I wonder if the sparse bug on lvm-thin, is the same issue.
