You'll either have audio or you won't when you reach the KDE desktop. What motherboard are you using with your 265K?

Installing Proxmox via another system is possible as Proxmox, just like Linux, is not specific to the hardware. You'll might need to fix the bootloader and network configuration. But I doubt that will work around your current issue. Your problem... -
