GI'm using an old ESXi server to run Proxmox Backup Server. It has 192GB of RAM but never uses more than about 99GB (according to the Memory usage graph on the Server Administration page). I'm assuming most of that is just caching indexes and...

That did it. I increased zfs_arc_max to 150GB and memory usage increased. We'll see how it goes. I may bump it up further. Thanks, everyone! -

You dont need a qdevice for a 3 node cluster; it will just serve as a 4th vote that doesnt have any consequence since its not a tiebreaker anyway. The lessons here are well learned, namely: 1. your cluster is only as stable as its network design... -

You will need to start them manually instead of HA though. Alternatively buy two USB-NICs to have a dedicated cluster...

No, since I have 3 nodes, I think I should be covered if one of them goes down. But now that you mentioned it I have a couple of Rasberries lying around doing nothing so maybe I shouid add one to act as voting qdevice, thanks for the feedback!

Generell würde ich, und mache es auch so, VPN und andere routen veränderte Dienste, immer in einer VM laufen lassen. Darüber hinaus sind keine deiner realen Configs hier ersichtlich. Und man benötigt Alles...

Wenn Netapp + PVE würde ich NFS mit nconnect empfehlen. Performance ist meinstens ausreichend wenns eine AFF ist und weniger Einschränkungen als SAN + LVM.
