OSDs need both networks (Ceph public_network and cluster_network) to function on all nodes to be able to properly work .
If one of these two networks do not work the OSDs flap.
Fair enough, none of my hypotheses were right — and looking at your
`--show-eee` output more carefully I should have caught this earlier:
EEE status: enabled - inactive
Link partner advertised EEE link modes: Not reported
"Link partner...
cluster network is for osd->osd replication.
osd->monitor && osd->client is done on public network.
They are differents hearbeats, osd hearbeat between osd (on clusternetwork)
hearbeat from monitor-> osd (on public network)...
Turns out I need to fall back to the old postfix configuration with sasl_passwd support.
After set this in the main.cf postfix file:
alias_maps = hash:/etc/aliases
alias_database = hash:/etc/aliases
mydestination = $myhostname...
+1 to UdoB's point — this trips up a lot of people and it's worth
underlining. "Dedicated VLAN" and "dedicated wire" solve completely
different problems.
A VLAN tag protects you from L2 broadcast domain contamination and gives
the switch...
It is sufficient for one or two (or more?) handful of nodes.
But this:
just does not work! You need to have a separate wire. In your case any other VLAN can saturate this physical wire and make corosync die. There may be priority "tricks"...
ESXi VMs usually use the LSI Logic Parallel controller. Try the LSI 53C895A or the LSI Logic Parallel within the PVE VM.
Beside that you mentioned a snapshot. Did you convert the complete snapshot chain including the descriptor file?
It's not impossible, but whether you can do it depends on you, so please decide for yourself if you think you can.
