    You can cycle back by appending -1, -2, -3, etc. For example, journalctl -b -1 is the bootlog before the current boot.

    PBS macht meiner Meinung nach immer Sinn. Backups sind wesentlich kleiner und schneller. Der Stop Modus sollte eigentlich keinen temporären Speicher benötigen.

    FWIW, I just today upgraded from 8.4.9 to 8.4.14 (or whatever was the latest 8.4) and to 9.2.2 today on two HPE servers (G11 or something, from 2025, with ZFS disks), using the mentioned official 8-to-9 guide. No problems, no need to pin the NIC...

    I can easily obtain the working journal but how would I obtain the broken journal? It breaks the network so I can't ssh to copy it. I'm also away from the physical machine so I can't risk getting locked out again. Any suggestions?
