edit: Oh, and the command which I execute habitually:
dmesg -T | tail
This many times let me unexpectedly spot unusual events which colleagues or a monitoring system haven't noticed.
I come from restic background. So there splitting one big monolith(3TB for example) into smaller(1TB+100GB+600GB+e.t.c) was always faster. Basically the smaller the store the faster it was backing up (And sometimes that can lead to backups being...
Thanks, Fiona!
So if there’s already a similar thread on Bugzilla, I’d better not add anything, right?
I do notice, though, that it’s been quiet for a while… Let’s hope it gets looked at as soon as possible!
Thank you!
This seems to be exactly the issue I'm experiencing as well.
Do you think the issue is only related to the timeout or linked to other issues (e.g. the inotify error message in the log)?
Is there anything I can provide or help in...
Hi everyone,
I created the Proxmox datastores using ZFS in mirror mode; the disk pairs have the same capacity, and almost all the virtual machines I have running on them were migrated from ESXi.
I have ZFS replication enabled between two nodes...
Tried this with the previous ifupdown2 version from the PVE 8.0 ISO (3.2.0-1+pmx11), and the result is still the same:
root@pve80:~# bridge vlan show
port vlan-id
ens18 1 PVID Egress Untagged

So we built a PBS on an old HP Microserver gen 8. It consists of 4 SSD Samsung 863a enterprise grade for the datastore, in ZFS RAIDZ1 configuration. The specs for this server are shown here:
We have added a separate boot drive to the spare...
ok, then for the latter - should a 'simple' zone also be allocating the IPs at vNIC level? or is it just tracking availability in the IPAM screen/external system?
Thank you @fabian very insightful reply
a datastore is shared by many users.
Interesting. As I've understood it's better to have different datastores for different users. This way it's less CPU strain on proxmox server + faster backups? (example...

I'm definitely no expert on EFI, but it feels like this should work
Here is a screenshot from the graphs over the last week:
I can't see a bottleneck of any kind. The "Maximum" graph setting shows a peak at load peak on May 23 22:30 at around 7.79.
The system is definitely not idle during suspend, I imagine...
like I said - this is a global problem the last few months (well, a bit longer now already I guess). anything with dynamic content that basically allows endless possibilities to query (like git forges, forums, ...) are hit particularly hard...
Hi,
That was a beginner mistake.
Real root cause (found 2026-05-06): discard=on was missing from scsi1 in the QEMU config. For over a year, every ext4 TRIM was silently dropped by QEMU and never propagated down to Ceph → 2.7 TiB of orphaned RBD...
With one community subscription you can only license one PVE with one socket, the physical host would be the best choice.
For testing and playing around you don't need a subscription at all, just use the no-subscription repo.
You will have to...
