I don't think is does 4k r/w and even on my consumer hardware I linked to you in another post I can easely reach 100MB/s.
Anyway, in the real world, PBS will be way less relevant, since you only need to send changes. So in your case the local...
In regard to the discussion: I remember that @Falk R. mentioned several times in the German forum that using ZFS on HW RAID is ok if (and only if):
You know what you are doing (which imho doesn't hold true for people calling others "dogmatic"...
I have a Proxmox node get this template - and it auto discover the rest of the cluster. Issue is that I have 2 clusters so have to do it twice. I was thinking of simplyfing this via PDCM since it does have access to the clusters. But it looks...
Well I can imagine following usecases: You have a local PBS on trusted hardware for fast restores, you would like not to use encryption so even if somehow you lost the key you still have backups and also to reduce CPU load for compression on the...
Its entirely up to you. it is POSSIBLE to set up a hypervisor, a pbs vm, import the data, and restore- but by that logic you could just rebuild all your vms from scratch too. your RTO/RPO policies are your own.

I don't see why my travel preferences have anything to do with this discussion. But I will remember not to interact you anymore, if you have nothing to say than insults and comparing apples with oranges. You are welcome
I've often said that I am a ZFS fan. But hey, this is not the Butlerian Jihad with "filesystems" as the topic.
The system I am using in this very moment has a normal ext4 filesystem :-)

@dxxd,
Everything is predicated on your risk tolerance. in a homelab, I have no real qualms about running a simple ext4 filesystem on a single HDD. like you, I dont remember ever losing a single bit (at least not being aware or impacted by it)- but...
I think it's rather odd to call people "dogmatic" who don't want people to risc their data due to not following best practices. If this is dogmatic I'm a dogmatic too and would prefer not to get insulted for trying to keep people from getting burnt.

It was shut-down when I ran the command I posted above. I've since tried running while it was up via the UI and that seemed to complete without giving an error message. However, I now get this warning message when booting the VM:

Hi,
not only, it also impact linux when Secure Boot is enable and use shim signed with : MS 2023 UEFI CA
have you done it when the VM was shutdown ?
Best regards,
