Sorry, I'm out. All of the above is on you. Who told you to implement the "test" repository in "an enterprise-grade environment of this scale".
It is not published in either pve-no-subscription or pve-enterprise repositories.
I don't dispute...
@djsami thats why you dont use the test repository in production.
as the name implies it is a repository for testing things. its bleeding edge stuff.
if you need things to just work, use the enterprise repository, where only well tested releases...
FYI I upgraded my PBS VMs and a secondary PVE server today with no issues. Full backups beforehand.
The problematic PBS VM was upgraded in-place from PBS v3 to v4 and apparently did not have the proxmox-network-interface-pinning .deb package...
Yeah indeed the real performance stood the same. I got this from the thread.
But I did not read anything about IO delay itself, only IO Pressure Stall and wonder if it is the very same issue, or needs a separate fix.
Okay, hab meinen Fehler gefunden.
Es gab ein LXC auf einer anderen physischen Proxmox-Maschine mit derselben IP-Adresse wie mein PBS, allerdings lauschte dieses LXC an einem anderen Port. Ich habe das korrigiert und nun läuft das BPS-GUI und...
We're pleased to announce the release of Proxmox Backup Server 4.2.
This version is based on Debian 13.4 ("Trixie"), uses Linux kernel 7.0 as the new stable default for improved hardware support, and comes with ZFS 2.4 for reliable...
Same issue here, tried to re-download the latest (proxmox-ve_9.1-1.iso) iso, changed USB drive, ventoy, etc.
proxmox-ve_9.0-1.iso was successfully installed!

@Onslow - great news, enabling SR-IOV Global and I/OAT DMA fixed the issue and the NX3230 now boots up nicely into PBS4.
Steps for the fix:
Enter BIOS: Power on the NX3230 and press F2 when the Dell logo appears to enter the System Setup...
I don't think that turning off SPF checking is the best solution.
(I'm thinking out loud): is a backup MX really needed nowadays?... What benefit would I gain from it?
When my main MX is unreachable, then a sending machine will queue messages...

Because it is a cluster file system like VMFS, multiple nodes can access the same disk.
Since there is no such file system, multiple nodes cannot access the same disk.
If that is a requirement, you can simply continue using VMware.

just to enlight the thread solution was to set the NFS to
Squash -> Map all users to admin on the NFS side (in my case a synology NAS)
Squash -> Map all users to admin
This indeed was the solution for me as well - exact same problem. PVE backup...
